The Second Half of Life…Maybe

Julia Corbett-Hemeyer: The last time I shared my thoughts about aging in the US with you, I spoke about how the Covid pandemic had highlighted the ways in which aging in this culture is problematic. In this sermon, I’ll contrast three approaches to the second half of life: what seems to me to be the current predominant model in the US, Hinduism’s four stages of life model, and finally psychiatrist Carl Jung’s reflections on what we need to be about as we age.
