Carvings from the Board

purchase isotretinoin online I’m not sure who, if anyone gets credit, but our church seems to be coming back to life! Some of the credit goes to some of our new members coming in with new energy and excitement for who we are
and what we do, as well as participation in the Worship Committee, services, and sermons. Some
belongs to Amy, our admin (I almost wrote new, but she is getting close to being with us for six months)
who has been full of ideas and enthusiasm, bringing to our Facebook Page many new posts about our
church and the Hendricks County community, greatly increasing posts to our newsletter and Facebook
page, including newsletter posts, Wayside Pulpit Quotes, Hendricks County events and other things. And
Julian, now with the help of Amy, is slowly but surely bringing our website from the past into the
present.
We are increasing our social justice work – still fairly limited but improving. We started our “Give away
the plate” this month with Sheltering Wings as the recipient. We also set up a Christmas Tree in the
Clinton St. entrance with tags for people to take to buy things for Sheltering Wings.
Deb Brown is helping by setting up a volunteer opportunity each month with a Not-for-Profit
Organization. November was with Gleaners Food Bank. We took December off, partly because Deb was
out of town much of the month, but this will be resuming in January.
We will also be resuming our Food Collection for a local Food Bank in January. Please remember to bring
food for the donation!
We are also working towards repairs to long standing issues with the church. There will be more
information coming about these repairs in the next couple of months. And look for an article (maybe
this issue) about recent repairs to the Bell Tower. No, the Bell wasn’t in danger of coming down when
someone was pulling the rope (there was some speculation about that), but there was a danger that the
bell tower rope would come down on someone who was pulling the rope. It turned out to be very
frayed.
Our records and procedures are also being reviewed to make the records more orderly and the
procedures easier to follow and less likely to not survive our annual transition in board members and
officers.
Lots of good things happening here at UUCCHC! I’m excited for all that’s happening and coming!
