Facilities Task Force

Church 'Not Closing' Notice

Due to timing issues with external work and permits, there will be no need to close down the church during the month of July as originally scheduled.

The tentative plan will be to get the exterior completed and then be able to close only the downstairs during a 3-week period sometime this fall.

There will be more information about the refurbish project at the Town Hall Meeting following service on June 22.

Please feel free to contact John McCoy or Bill Sutton with any questions.

Future Facilities Meeting October 30, 2013

As work on Future Facilities has progressed, concerns have arisen within part of the congregation about the direction of the project and whether it was appropriate for the vision of UUCC. A special meeting, open to all interested members of the congregation, is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 30, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Annie Johnson, John McCoy and Adam Bowman are working to define the most viable renovation options.

Below are links to the different plans being considered so far (pdf).

Plans for Building Construction

The Facilities Task Force has a new online tool for you to use in understanding, and commenting on our planning for an addition. It provides detailed information on our plans, within a drawing of the floor plan of the building. This tool will allow the members of the congregation to have access to our ongoing plans and to make comments on what you do and don't like, as well as suggestions about things we might improve. We don't want this to be the task force's design, we want this to be the congregation's design!

When you click on the link below, you will be taken to a start-up page. Please read through the information there, it will help you find your way around. If you click in an area of the building it will bring up a larger view of that section of the drawing. You can then click in various areas and it will bring up a text box describing what we will be doing in those areas of the building.

On the main page you can also add comments or questions about what you see, and you can look at comments that others have made. We will appreciate feedback about what you like or dislike, and about your overall impressions of what we are working on.

Keep in mind that we are still relatively early in the design process, so the design is fairly flexible. As the design evolves we will adjust the drawings and text to reflect that evolution. We would like your feedback to help guide our changes to this plan. In the end this needs to be the congregation's plan, not the Task Force's plan.
